An 88 yr old female known asthmatic, came with complaints of redness and inflammation at the infra mammary area of the right breast. Mild itching present and there was oozing of sticky white fluid from the crease of the breast fold.
Candidal Intertrigo: before treatment
On examination:- redness+++
No warmth, no palpable lump
Bleeding present in small spots with scaling of the skin.
Diagnosis:- Candidal intertrigo ( inflammatory skin condition with a secondary yeast infection that develops in warm, moist skin folds where opposing surfaces rub together)
Candidal Intertrigo: before treatment
Remedy prescribed:- Graphites 30 thrice a day for five days
Graphites was prescribed on the basis of the following key observation:-
Redness with inflammatory changes beneath skin folds, oozing of sticky fluid with cracks in the skin and bleeding
Candidal Intertrigo: after Homeopathy
Follow up :-
There was a marked improvement of 80% within 24 hours followed by gradual restoration of healthy skin tissue within 3-4 days.
Medicine was tapered and stopped in 7 days
